MEDA ETE Press Conference
Injaz Lebanon and the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership’s Education and Training for Employment (MEDA-ETE) held a joint press conference on December 3rd, 2008, at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Beirut to present the outcomes and results of a two-year partnership to enhance employment by improving the quality of education and training. An important part of the project aims at promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment.
In Lebanon, the focus has been on strengthening the capacity of the newly created Career Counseling unit in the Ministry of Education, introducing basic entrepreneurial concepts in their approach.
In March 2008, a group of career counselors from the Ministry of Education took part in a training of trainers’ workshop in Amman on promoting an entrepreneurial mindset among youth, based on a methodology developed by Durham University in the United Kingdom, called GLEAM. They piloted the program with 21 students last October.
