A Lebanese on the Phone
lebjournal.com- An intriguing report was published lately in the New York Times newspaper about Lebanese people on the phone. Most specifically the high voices when they’re talking on the phone. Ever since I read that article figured out that the reporter was absolutely right. Wherever you are in the world, you’ll know a Lebanese person from his REMARKABLY high voice. Mostly they’re shouting, especially if they’re speaking to someone outside the country, they tend to raise their voice more, as if the receiver will hear them better that way. The study conducted in the paper reveals that this reporter ha visited many airports, and he realized that most of the people talking “shouting” on the phone were Lebanese….. I couldn’t really find come up with reasons.. But one idea popped into my mind! Is it because we Lebanese people pay attention to high voices rather than effective ones???? Well, the almighty god gave us TWO EARS and ONE MOUTH, I believe there exists some wisdom behind that…hehe…one day we’ll be able to figure it out I think…..
